Here is an example of how to post your scheduled study.

Topic: (name of the study)
Teacher: (your name)

Date: May 29, 2022
Time: 6pm (18:00) US Eastern (note: the Calendar is able to automatically adjust to the correct timezone depending on the user's location.)
Location:
Online: (link to where the meeting place can be found. Social media, website, etc.)
 or
Local: (address for public meeting place or who to contact for the address)

Homework or Needed Supplies: (do your students need to prep for the meeting by reading ahead? Do they need to download or purchase workbooks for the study? Place all information and links here)

Series: (yes or no)
If yes, you may want to indicate whether or not it is on a set schedule. The Calendar has several options for setting recurring events.

Misc.
Any other details that you think should be made available for your study.

This is not an actual schedule.
This is only an example.

(you may use this post as a template or make your own)

Where should I post my event?

This Scheduling Forum and the Calendar are two separate areas that are able to work in conjuction with each other. Neither one requires the other however, when both are used together the power of the scheduling system can be realized. At a glance, the Calendar indicates upcoming events while the Scheduling Forum is built to gloriously present all your details for the event.

The best way to schedule your event is to start by adding a new topic in the Scheduling Forum, then add your event to the Calendar. Keep the details in the Calendar very brief by only including the title, topic and times of the event along with a link to your topic (which you already posted) in the Scheduling Forum.

How do I post my Bible study event?

Quick Links
From the main page look for the "Quick Links" menu item (example below). On desktop computers you will find it in the top right area of the page. If you are on a mobile device with a smaller screen you must scroll down to find the Quick Links.
2022-05-16 15.05.40 tomely.org e691edaa0178.jpg

Then tap or click on "Bible Study Groups" to open the menu:
2022-05-16 15.06.13 tomely.org 0d41539ea947.jpg
The menu that opens provides links to individual forums and selecting one of those links will take you directly to that area.
  • Topics & Schedules is an area in which only the Study Group Organizer is allowed to add topics, but members are allowed to post replies under each topic. This will allow an orderly area for scheduling study topics, and still allow members to ask questions specific to the scheduling & details of the event. This area is not for general discussion.

  • Study Discussion is an area in which only the Study Group Organizer may post a topic that specifically relates to their scheduled study. Members here are allowed to post replies under each topic and are free to discuss the topic at length.

  • Open Bible Study Discussion is available for all members to post topics and replies and does not require having a scheduled study. This is a free form area for anyone to ask quesitons and discuss bible topics.

Scheduling Your  Study
Select "Topics & Schedules" from the Quick Links menu and you will arrive at the scheduling forum. Then select the "Add Topic" button create your scheduled topic (example below):

On the page that loads, the only required fields are the title field at the top and your message in the large text area. Then use the "Preview" button to check if it is formatted as you like. Once you are satisfied, select the "Add topic" button to publicly post your scheduled study. You may also edit the post at a later time to make any necessary changes.

Adding Your Study To The Calendar

The Calendar
Look for the little monthly calendar in the sidebar or scroll down on mobile to see it.
Example below: 2022-05-16 14.38.50 tomely.org f877068cd524.jpg
  • The shaded day is the current day.
  • The red dots mean an event is scheduled.
  • The green dots mean no event is scheduled.
  • Each day is a link to that day's schedule (even if no event is scheduled).

Schedules
Select a date to view the schedule for that day. Don't worry if the date you want is on a forthcoming month, you can specify the future date on the next screen, example below:

2022-05-16 17.20.19 tomely.org a09175775027.jpg

  • The top left displays the date for the scheduled being viewed.
  • The bar across the top allows you to choose Yearly, Monthly, Weekly and Daily. The current view in this image is Daily which is in bold text.
  • The two outside buttons allow you to move backward and forward on the calendar.
  • The center button takes you to the Calendar Event scheduling page.
  • The bottom of the image shows the top two hours of the daily schedule.

Adding Your Event
To add your event select the middle button labeled "Add event" (image above). On this page you will see a number of options with which to configure your event(s). We will go through some of them below.
